Larkham Leisure community raises over £15,000 for the MND Association
Fundraising across Larkham Leisure parks and summer events supports people living with MND, their families and vital research
The Larkham Leisure community has raised an incredible £15,268.16 for the Motor Neurone Disease Association following a summer of fundraising across its parks and family events.
The final total was celebrated at a cheque handover in Shiptonthorpe on Sunday 27th September, as the Larkham team came together to support Sir Kevin Sinfield’s seventh and final annual fundraising challenge.
The Larkham Leisure fundraising effort was led and coordinated by Sharron Purcell, Manager of South Lea Holiday Park, with support from holiday home owner Joanne Dunk. Holiday homeowners, guests, visitors and team members across the parks supported the campaign through collection tins, donations and fundraising activities.
Sharron said:
“It has been wonderful to see everyone across our parks get behind this important cause. I would like to thank every person who donated or helped with our fundraising. Every contribution has added up to an amazing total that we can all be proud of.”
Tyrone Larkham, Director at Larkham Leisure said:
“We are incredibly proud of what the Larkham Leisure community has achieved. Our holiday homeowners, guests, visitors and team members have all embraced the campaign, showing that even a small donation can help create something much bigger.
“A heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated, supported our events or helped with the fundraising. It has been a real team effort, and we hope the money raised will make a meaningful difference to people living with MND and their families.”
Dominic McDonough, Regional Fundraising Director for the North of England, said:
“We are so touched by the hard work and kindness that the team at Larkham Leisure have shown to support us. Every penny raised will help us to support those living with MND and their families locally, as well as funding research to find a cure to this terrible disease.
“They have been absolutely incredible and really have gone the extra mile! It means so much to us and really will make a huge difference.”
Sir Kevin’s final challenge is being undertaken in honour of his best friend, Rob Burrow, who sadly died from MND. His extraordinary dedication has inspired millions of people while raising vital funds and awareness of the disease.
Larkham Leisure would like to thank everyone who donated, supported an event or helped with fundraising activities throughout the summer.
